Tarquin Johnson

This is a doodle I did of a possible character that I was going to do a story about, before I settled on a better idea.

Still, I liked the look of the little guy and decided to draw him up on the computer.

Banana Split

I was trying to think of phrases¬†that I could draw in somewhat of a humorous way, for some reason “banana split” was all I could think of, so I came up with something so at least it’s now out of my head.

I didn’t know how I was going come up with something funny about a banana split, so after actually playing with the words I ended up with this strange result.

I feel like an explanation is required. A sheep goes “baaa”, and people can call their grandmothers’ “nana”, and they split up. So “banana split”.

Passing The Time

I’m not entirely sure how to explain this one. I was trying to think of something to draw and started with a dodgy circle which resulted in this.

What are they:

1. Reading time (best time as a kid in my opinion)

2. Party time

3. Hammer time

4. Tea time

5. Break time

6. Lieu time

7. Bath time

8. Time warp (bit of a cheat but I love the song so tough)

9. Question time

10. Bed time

11. Show time

12. Summer time

Mort plans

I have decided to continue using Mort.

My friend Jordan and I are hopefully animate him using Adobe Flash CC, and then will possibly publish a book on iBooks about the entire process.

The main thing that Mort is going to do is, walk across the screen then bash rocks and different poems will appear each time. We’ve also started making the soundtrack in GarageBand which we can also then put onto iTunes.

I’ll make it a New Year’s Resolution.

I was telling Clare about someone I knew that had some of his poetry published, and how he sort of resembled (in my mind at least) a cartoon caveman.

So she encouraged me to do something about it and this is the first sort of sketch of Mort and where he lives – I didn’t really enjoy history that didn’t involve cool mythology – so there probably won’t be great historical accuracy.

Mort’s going to be a caveman that carves poetry into rocks.
